‘The State of our world’ - Paid zine submissions!
As part of our Zine Collective here at Comics Youth, we are creating a PAID collaborative zine!
(What is a zine you ask? A zine is a little magazine, usually self published and with a focus on marginalised voices)
The Brief
The theme of this zine is a newspaper about ‘The State of Our World’. This could be our world, or a fictional world, or a world you’ve made up.
It will be printed in a newspaper inspired zine and we want it to look like something you'd see in the daily news, but with your own creative twist!
It must meet a 12 rating. You can reference what that means here - https://www.bbfc.co.uk/rating/12
You get to make one page (portrait 17 x 25 cm) - What you put on the page is totally up to you as long as it connects to the theme and follows the guidelines!
Examples could include:
A criticism of a recent political event in our world that is important to you;
A newspaper page of what is happening in a fictional world (think, Transformers, Heartstopper, Marvel, etc)
A newspaper page of your own made-up universe;
An cool advert that you could find in the newspaper;
A comic strip you would find in a newspaper commenting on the state of the world;
A "reader submissions" column where people discuss what's going on in a world.
