PAID COMIC ART CALL-0UT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 16-25

Are you 16-25 years old and want to shout about your experiences with JOY as a marginalised young person?Do you want to be published under our Marginal Publishing House?

WELL, SEND US YA COMIC WORK!

We’re looking to share stories based on lived experiences, relating to joy as a marginalised young person (e.g., It could be about your own personal experiences of finding joy as a trans or nonbinary young person).

The topic is open to your own interpretation, and we are interested in all kinds of stories that fit within this subject.

This is a paid commission, and we will select a number of young people from the pitches submitted to create a comic up to 4 pages long (4 sides) based on your pitch stories.  We will pay each successful submission £75 per page (maximum £300 fee for a x4 page comic).

Here’s what we’re looking for:

You will be aged between 16-25

You will, ideally, have experience with creating comics.

A pitch of your story idea, providing us a brief overview providing details on the themes and narrative (no longer than 1pg. word document). A sample of your artwork (portfolio, website, instagram, etc)

Selected participants will know if they have been successful with their pitch by the 30th of March 2023.

Every artist selected will receive a free copy of the book and all profits from sales will go directly back into Comics Youth, providing support to young people aged between 8 to 25.
