**Merseyside Zine Fair**

On Saturday 15th August we held Merseyside Zine Fair, and **it was an amazing day**! Our talented stallholders were able to gain valuable experience and connect with fellow zine-makers and fans alike!

**Wirral Pride**

Rosa headed over to New Brighton to take part in Wirral Pride, selling anthologies, zines and more from Comics Youth’s own Marginal Publishing House! It was a wonderful time celebrating the LBGTQIA+ community and platforming young people’s creativity and voices 🌈✨

**Comics Declassified**

Our **final** Comics Declassified online masterclass took place on the 11th August with Hannah Berry, who taught us all about contracts and rights when it comes to comic-making!
Hannah shared valuable advice from her own time working in the creative industry, such as all about copyright, and what to look out for when working with a client!

Whilst our masterclasses have come to an end, **don’t worry if you missed out!**

All of our *online* masterclasses will be uploaded to our **Youtube channel** soon, starting up again with **IP Publishing with Ramzee**! Subscribe to be the first to know when new videos go live!

**Saturday Comics Workshop**

This month we’ve been learning all about splash pages, drawing up big, beautiful illustrations! We’ve also made tunnel books, which was led by one of our talented volunteers!

Open to ages 8-13, Saturday Comics Workshop runs every week 11:30am to 1pm at our HQ (Make Hamilton, 69-71 Argyle St, Birkenhead, CH41 6LQ) - every session is professionally ran by our staff, who support our groups to make their own comics and illustrations, using the young people’s very own ideas!

**Here For The Nerds**

This month we’ve made fan posters, done 6-second scribbles, along with the usual sketching and yapping together!

Open to ages 14-25, Here For The Nerds runs every Saturday 1:30pm to 3pm at our HQ (Make Hamilton, 69-71 Argyle St, Birkenhead, CH41 6LQ) - we provide a space where you can do anything you like, from; gaming on the Nintendo Switch, board games, crafts or just chatting with mates - all with free drinks and snacks provided by us! You can also bring your own creative projects and activities along too, or join in with our optional activity each week!

**Marginal Associate Updates**

The Marginal Associates have been busy as ever, working on collaborative projects and preparing as we come to the end of our roles at CY!

Jake has been hard at work creating graphics for our social media channels, promoting our publishing house.

Matt W. has been working on graphics for our website and blogs, just like the one above.

Cady has been writing blogs (like this one) and looking at how to improve the experience of our websites.

Aslan has been continuing to promote CY at outreach events and strengthen our networks!

And Matt H. has been continuing to support our young people during sessions, ensuring their voices are heard!
