Art Director
Managing all aspects of the visual vibe of the newspaper!
The newspaper art director will work alongside Comics Youth’s very own art director in making decisions about the newspaper’s artwork, layout and overall aesthetic. Not only will they help in directing how every aspect of the newspaper will look, they’ll also assist in creating artwork, doodles and other such visual loveliness to help bring the paper to life!
Co-Editors
Guardians of content!
With mentorship and guidance from Comics Youth staff, newspaper co-editors will share the responsibility of managing workflow. That means that they’ll be in charge of the editorial Trello page to keep track of articles and deadlines, but also that they’ll be the head honchos of content: Helping all aspects of writing including assigning pieces, approving pitches, providing friendly support and feedback to staff writers and helping to proof-read work for publication.
Researcher
Work that background magic!
Working closely with co-editors and staff writers, researchers will help to dig around for potential stories, fact-check existing pieces and help staff writers find extra information that could improve their articles!
Admin
Every machine needs an engine!
Admin are an important part of making a newspaper happen, helping to maintain day-to-day operations like deadlines, schedules & emails. Administrative assistants will be the backbone of the newspaper, helping with communication and to set up any useful systems that can help the team stay organised, productive and connected.
Development Lead
This paper is a freckle & you are the sun!
Through marketing and recruitment, the development lead helps the newspaper to evolve its audience, team & power. This role will wield strong social media sorcery and basic communication alchemy in getting the good word out about the newspaper and helping it to blossom into into the fabulous beast it deserves to be!
Staff Writer
Say your piece!
A newspaper is nothing without its writers. Bring your ideas, your words, and your voice and develop them into a piece (or several!) to be proud of!
Staff Illustrator
Design & dazzle!
As well as helping to bring writing to life with some killer illustrations, staff illustrators will also be on-hand to provide various doodles & designs as and when needed!
