**It’s been another busy month at CY HQ!**

We’ve been gearing up to host Merseyside Zine Fair, having our usual fun in our Saturday Sessions, amongst much more!

**Merseyside Zine Fair**

The official poster for Merseyside Zine Fair has been released! Designed by @artbygrace0 on Instagram.
Join us on **Saturday** **15th August at Make Hamilton** for a full day of zines, prints, comics and more. You’ll find a sticker rally, zine trading tables, and lots of amazing traders selling lots of amazing zines!

**Comics Declassified**

This month online we covered colouring with Eren Angiolini, and in-person we’ve been continuing to learn everything about RISO!

**Our final online masterclass!**

**Join us online on Tuesday 11th August at 5pm** to find out about **contracts and rights** with comics artist and writer **Hannah Berry**!
All of our online masterclasses are recorded and being uploaded to our **Youtube Channel**, so keep a look-out for any classes you’ve missed that you’re interested in!

**Saturday Comics Workshop**

This month we learned about colour theory and designed characters based on contemporary colours, and in another session we designed playdoh printed characters!

Open to ages 8-13, Saturday Comics Workshop runs every week 11:30am to 1pm at our HQ (Make Hamilton, 69-71 Argyle St, Birkenhead, CH41 6LQ) - every session is professionally ran by our staff, who support our groups to make their own comics and illustrations, using the young people’s very own ideas!

**Here For The Nerds**

This month we had a glorious time making zines and drawing, alongside playing Horrified and other fun board games!

Open to ages 14-25, Here For The Nerds runs every Saturday 1:30pm to 3pm at our HQ (Make Hamilton, 69-71 Argyle St, Birkenhead, CH41 6LQ) - we provide a space where you can do anything you like, from; gaming on the Nintendo Switch, board games, crafts or just chatting with mates - all with free drinks and snacks provided by us! You can also bring your own creative projects and activities along too, or join in with our optional activity each week!

**Small Press Day**

This Small Press Day was a celebration of zines! We made zines about our interests, photocopied them and did zine swaps within the group. We even left some at Kraken Comics for their free library!

**Zine Collective**

Our current Zine Collective cohort have been collaborating with the Science-Fiction Zine Archive at Liverpool University, and the zines are almost finished being edited!

Alongside this, the cohort has been preparing for the upcoming Merseyside Zine Fair, making stickers, zines and more! They also recently made their very own sketchbooks, and has a Zines for Change workshop, led by artist, producer and zine maker Rosie Sergent! (Rosie Sergeant’s website)
